Resource Plans

EPK-Suite uses a unique "dual spreadsheet" for resource planning of any project
or support effort. The top part of the page allows managers to specify the
specific skills and individual resources required for the effort. Resource
requirements can be entered in man-hours or FTE across time-phased planning
periods. The bottom part of the page allows managers to see the remaining
availability of their staff so they can make the right assignments to the
particular project or effort above. The "Match" functions lets the user quickly
see the best matches for any particular requirement from the top half, based on
matching the skill needed and the individual resources time-phased availability.
The manager can also quickly see what the current commitments of any resource is
to other projects, allowing them to easily see how to switch the priorities of
their staff.

Capacity Center

The Capacity Center is the place where line managers can see the workload of
their staff across all projects and operational activities. This function
permits the manager to sort and total the work effort by project, resource,
department. They can view just firm commitments which they have made, or also
include the current outstanding. The analysis capability of the Capacity Center
is very comprehensive; the manager can see the workload in tabular of graphical
form, control the time period he/she wants to review, view totals by skill in a
histogram format, and also show comparisons of workload to availability or
alternative staffing scenarios.

Highlight Resource Overloads

This view shows managers where the resource commitments compared with
availability are by skill with a simple histogram. The red areas indicate
overloads which should be addressed. And the manager can correct these problems
right from the Capacity Center by simply selecting a project in the top part og
the page and going directly to the Resource Plan for that item.

Integration with Other tools

which support XML, allowing unlimited reporting and analysis flexibility.
